European Damp Home Survey: Help Researchers Understand Damp and Mould Exposure

Researchers are inviting people across Europe to contribute to a citizen science study investigating the prevalence of damp and mould in homes.

Damp indoor environments and mould exposure are important areas of environmental and respiratory health research. However, reliable data on how frequently European households experience these conditions remain limited.

A survey conducted under the auspices of the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) Excellence Centre network aims to improve understanding of the extent of damp and mould in European housing.

The questionnaire is open to people living in Europe, takes only a few minutes to complete and is entirely anonymous. It is available in English, Spanish, German, French and Italian.

Researchers are approaching 1,000 responses, but participation remains uneven across countries. Additional responses will help improve geographical coverage.
